The Fiber of our Country
I have seen in my life the congress of the United States go from a group of highly distinguished and wise men and women, to a group of spineless whimps. Instead of actively dealing with the issues, they bury them under an immense pile of money, run or write meaningless laws. No one leads, no one sets an example, everyone afraid to do what is right. Today there are few in congress who can be counted on, neither Republican or Democrat.
Our system of Government was truly divinely inspired. Separation of powers between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial, is perfect. No where else on the earth are there in place such checks and balances. But, with the appointment of judges that legislate from the bench, legislators who listen only to special interests and a media that renders a President ineffective by misleading the public, the substance of who we are is eroding. Everything is in place and nothing works.
A few things need to happen to force our government to use the system that was gracefully given to us. First, we need to produce a leader. One who doesn’t stand for the latest poll, but has the belief that man is basically good, the free market system is the best way for a free people to engage in commerce and that God and his law are the bed rock that this country was set upon. He needs to be able to call a spade a spade and not be so profoundly politically correct. He will need to take action to remove any cancer from any party. He needs to have the will of David and the Honor and integrity of Reagan. Second, we need to have a constitutional amendment for the President to be elected to 1 six year term. At the end of that term he can run for a two year extension. He has no opposition, just a strait vote of the people, yes he stays in for two more years, no he does not. This will keep him from spending half of his time as President running for President. Third, honor, integrity and individual responsibility need to make a come back. Congressmen and Senators need to be held to a much higher standard. If you make a mistake admit it, a sin confess it, bad enough resign. A few special interest groups have so much influence that a pure discussion on almost any topic can not take place today. We need to get the senators that cater to them out of Washington. Some are, teachers union, labor unions, environmental groups and lawyers and thier special interests.
Family is the only way to change what is changing America. A man and a woman vow together and create a family. This family and it’s traditional values are what need support. Deviations of any kind lend themselves to a breakdown of the fiber that this country was woven.
